Filomoussos Etaireia square
Filomoussos Etaireia square is located in the heart of Plaka, on Kydathinaion Street and was named after the Philharmonic Society which was founded in 1813 by intellectuals from Athens, whose goal was to return the educational services back to Athens during the Turkish occupation.
Today plenty of bars, cafes, ouzo joints and restaurants surrounding the square attract a constant stream of tourists and younger Athenians. The square is decorated with busts of journalist and writer Dimitrios Kabouroglou and composer Nikos Chatziapostolou.
